Who is Shafonne Myers

Shafonne Myers is a media mogul and self love and body positivity coach from Temecula, California. She graduated with a biology and psychology degree but always had a love for weddings and helping people. She built an internationally recognized, award-winning wedding publication for plus size brides, Pretty Pear Bride. Her wedding publication is the only one in the world and has solidified her as THE plus size bridal expert.

She has recently started offering private coaching for: plus size women ready to transform their lives by learning to love themselves, feeling beautiful, stopping the comparison game, and finding the courage within themselves to be themselves regardless of their weight. From her experience with working with the plus size industry, she also helps wedding professions struggling with booking clients identify their ideal clients to make more money and get more clients with less effort.

Day 1 - Putting Yourself First 

Today we’re chatting about: Putting Yourself First

What’s that? 

I know it seems like such a foreign thing for us. We are so busy people pleasing and making sure that everyone else is taken care of and doing well that we totally forget about ourselves. We have to make sure that we are pouring into ourselves as much as we are pouring into others. Because when you realize, not putting yourself first, is hurting not just you but everyone around you it's a total game changer. Plus, when you don't love yourself like you should you start to view yourself as unworthy, and it's time to put a stop to it. 

Today’s Challenge:

Make a list of the things in your life that you don't want to do, and then a list of things you want to do. Drop the judgement and the external pressures and answer honestly from the bottom of your heart. When you're done, take a few seconds and look at how many things you wish you could say "no" to and how many things you wish you could say "yes" to. Are they equal? Probably not!

Day 2 - Happiness and Pleasure

As humans, we are wired for happiness and pleasure. Our bodies need it and crave it and without it, we can turn to negative behaviors such as overeating, over spending, and other addictions.

What are you craving right now? It’s time to learn about and get addicted to Vitamin P!

Let’s devote time today to fully enjoy life and infuse some happiness in it. 

Today’s Challenge:

Decide which area of your life where you’re missing out on happiness and pleasure. Figure out what you’re craving most.

Day 3 - GRATITUDE 

Today we’re chatting about: Gratitude 

One of the biggest contributing factors to our continued unhappiness is a loss of gratitude. The world we live in right now might be filled with so much misery, but it's also filled with so much amazing beauty too. 

It can be hard at first to identiy things that you're truly grateful for, so you might have to get creative. But I know one thing if you aren't grateful for anything else definitely be grateful that you have another day to live, love and laugh, or that you woke up with breath in your lungs and the use of your legs. There are so many things for us to be grateful for, they are literally all around us but we just have to take off our misery goggles to see them sometimes. 

Today’s Challenge:

Find a quiet place and tek some time to write down at least 10 things that you're grateful for. Start with the small things, working your way up and paying attention to things that encourage organic happiness and contentment.

Day 4 - Attentive Eating

What's this?

This is where we stop the blind eating and actually learn to use all our senses to fully enjoy food. 

Put your senses to the test and experience all that food has to offer.

It's so easy to eat just to eat. Not because you are hungry but instead because you are upset about something, doing something else - like watching TV, or just because you relate doing a certain thing with eating.  

Today’s Challenge:

Pay attention to what you're doing while you're eating. Practice eating meals without multi-tasking (no books, screens, etc.)

We as plus size women face a huge problem in the modern world, it's the lack of love we feel around us. So often we look for love everywhere else except the place we must look, internally. We get caught up in so many external validations that lead us down some really negative spirals. If we want to be loved passionately and unabashedly, we have to give ourselves the love that we look outwards for, and that starts with the simple act as writing a love letter to the person we are inside and out. 

Today’s Challenge:

Write yourself a love letter and don’t hold back on your best qualities, skills you bring to the world and all the great and wonderful things that you deserve from this life.
