Why This Award Hits Home for Me

Let’s be real. I built my career in an industry that wasn’t exactly made with me in mind.

I’ve spent years pushing for representation, for plus-size brides, for women of color, for business owners who deserve to be featured but never get the chance. I built Pretty Pear Bride because I wanted women to see themselves in the wedding world. Then I built Aisle Society to amplify other creators, vendors, and creatives who were ready to shine.

I created spaces where couples feel celebrated, not compared.
Where wedding pros get the visibility they’ve earned.
Where creativity drives opportunity, not exclusion.

So yeah, this award hits different.
It’s confirmation that inclusive, value-based media matters.
That slow, sustainable growth still wins.
And that when you lead with purpose, people notice.
