Most founders I talk to do not have a work problem. They have a description problem.

The work is good. The proof is there. And somewhere between what they do and how they say it, the whole thing goes quiet.

You can watch someone for a year and still not be able to tell a friend what they do. That is not reach. Reach already delivered. They arrived, they looked around, and there was nothing there they could repeat to anyone else.

I know that gap because I lived in it for fifteen years, and because I have spent those same fifteen years on the other side of the desk deciding who gets featured. I can hear within a few minutes of you talking why the market is not reading you the way you meant it.

Frame problem or foundation problem

These need completely different amounts of work and most people cannot tell which one they have.

A foundation problem means the offer is not right yet, or the proof is not there, or you are pointed at the wrong market. That takes months, and I would tell you so instead of selling you an hour.

A frame problem means the asset is already built and it is being described badly.

That is fixable in one sitting. It is the thing I am best at. It is the only thing I sell.

What happens in the sixty minutes

You talk. I listen for the words you use when you stop performing, because those are almost never the words on your website.

Then I say them back to you until we land on it. Who you help. What changes for them. What makes you the one who does it.

Then we point your offer, your page, and your price at that sentence.

The sentence, written down. Not notes for you to organize later.

And the three places to change first.

Then you have me for five days, because the questions that matter show up on day three when you sit down to do the thing.

I am the founder and CEO of Aisle Society, a ten-publication media network. I created Pretty Pear Bride in 2011 because I went dress shopping in 2003 and could not find a single thing built for my body, and I had to imagine my whole wedding day instead of seeing it.
